nBCC Prepares Annual Backpack Giveaway for North Adams Students

YOUTH LEAGUES -- North Adams Soccer Club is running its Kickers program for the town's youngest players, according to the club's website. The Mini Kickers program, for Pre-K and Kindergarten-age children, is set for Alcombright Field from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.; the day of the week is still to be determined. Kickers, for players in grades 1 and 2, follows at Alcombright Field from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., also on a day to be announced.

The club describes the program as "non-competitive" and says it is "led by experienced, professional coaches" who work with players on dribbling, passing and shooting while introducing teamwork and sportsmanship. Families are asked to have players bring shin guards and cleats to each session.

The club states its mission is "to provide each participant the opportunity to play soccer in a supportive and rewarding environment emphasizing fun, skill development and teamwork at a level that fits his or her interest and ability."
